MORE Darth Vader INFO

  • This Black Series Darth Vader was released together with a Black Series Luke Skywalker (Bespin Fatigues) action figure in the fall of 2025 as a Fan Channel exclusive for $69.99
  • The set depicts the epic duel between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker on the skywalk on Bespin
  • This specific Darth Vader action figure has been released numerous times over the years by Hasbro
  • in that regard, the figure itself is nothing new
  • What makes this release stand out is the wired cape, it has an internal wire that allows collectors to shape and pose it
  • Besides the removable wired soft-goods cape, Hasbro included Darth Vader's lightsaber hilt with a removable red blade
  • Aside from the cape, there are no removable parts on the figure (the armor, chest box, belt, and crotch piece are all sculpted in place)
  • The lightsaber fits well into both hands
  • The blade can easily be removed by unplugging it from the lightsaber hilt
  • The hilt features a D-ring so that it can be hung from the hook on Darth Vader’s belt
  • Unfortunately, the hook is rather small, which means the hilt may fall off when repositioning the figure
  • There is no interchangeable hand included that shows Darth Vader with a clenched fist or reaching out with an open palm
  • This is unfortunate because the entire scene is based on Vader reaching out to Luke and urging him to join him and rule the galaxy
  • Those specific poses cannot be recreated because the appropriate hands were not included
  • The paint application on the figure is good overall, the chest buttons are painted cleanly and they have the Hebrew writing underneath them
  • The cape works well overall (if you have the patience to pose it properly), one thing to keep in mind is that when the cape is lifted high into the air, the extra weight can cause Darth Vader to fall backward, so poses like that are possible but require some patience and careful balancing
  • Unfortunately, the helmet is not painted as well as in some previous releases, it is missing some of the subtle gunmetal paint details seen on earlier versions
  • All things considered, at the original $69.99 price point, this deluxe release should have gone a step further with a better painted helmet and the extra hands needed to do the scene full justice
