MORE INFORMATION

  • This Mace Windu and Emperor Palpatine 2-pack was officially revealed during Hasbro’s annual San Diego Comic-Con media breakfast on July 24, 2025
  • The set was first released at New York Comic-Con 2025 and made available to Hasbro Pulse Premium members on the opening day of the convention
  • Palpatine and Mace are based on their duel in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and the packaging beautifully captures this moment—when opened, it reveals a window display featuring the Coruscant skyline in the background
  • You can find the Mace Windu figure from this set archived on GF here: Black Series Mace Windu
  • The Palpatine/Darth Sidious figure includes an inner and outer soft-goods robe, his signature lightsaber hilt with a removable red blade, two additional hands with attached Force lightning, and a deformed head sculpt
  • The lightsaber hilt fits securely in Palpatine’s hands, and the blade can be easily removed by pulling it off
  • Unfortunately, the figure provides no indication of how Palpatine stored his lightsaber in his sleeve or where he retrieved it from in the movie, as there is no built-in saber storage
  • The soft-goods robe looks good overall and is not overly bulky, but it lacks the intricate outer patterns and details seen on-screen, which is disappointing
  • Swapping the heads is simple—just remove one from the socket and attach the other onto the peg
  • Both head sculpts look fantastic in person
  • The Force lightning hands are well-sculpted, visually appealing, and easy to attach
  • The paint application on the lightsaber hilt is underwhelming, as it is molded in plain gray plastic rather than a reflective silver finish
  • Palpatine stands securely without any balancing issues
  • Overall, while the figure itself leaves room for improvement, the stunning packaging helps compensate for some of its shortcomings
