Star Tours Starspeeder 1000 – The Ultimate Vehicle For 3 3/4" Collectors

9/15/2025

The brand-new Star Tours Starspeeder 1000 has finally landed! Released in August 2025 exclusively at Disney Parks—and briefly available earlier in April on DisneyStore.com—this highly anticipated vehicle is based directly on the 2011 Star Tours: The Adventures Continue attraction at Disney theme parks. Retailing for $349.99, the Starspeeder offers 3 3/4" Star Wars action figure collectors and fans alike a premium Star Wars experience that captures the excitement of the ride in stunning detail. Move aside 2011 version, the updated and newly sculpted 2025 Starspeeder 1000 has landed in the Star Tous docking bay!

Packaging

The packaging immediately sets the tone for this release. Disney went all out with high-gloss images of the Starspeeder 1000, creating a display-worthy box that feels as premium as the vehicle inside. From the vibrant photography to the polished design, the presentation ensures this release stands apart from previous Star Tours collectibles.

Figures and Accessories

This set includes loose R2-D2 and C-3PO figures, both using Disney’s Build-A-Droid sculpt. R2-D2 slots neatly into the exterior socket of the speeder, while C-3PO comes with a newly designed removable chair that can be placed in the cabin. There’s also a gray removable cover which is placed in front of the 4.5” LCD screen. There is also a newly sculpted Cam droid included which can be stored next to R2-D2 on the outside of the cabine. This version of the cam droid is newly sclupted and much larger and more accurately scaled than the 2011 cam droid.

The C-3PO sculpt itself is nicely done, but collectors may find the paint application lacking—the droid’s look really demands a shiny vac-metallized finish to match his on-screen appearance. Other highlights include a breakaway panel on the hull to reveal mechanical details, and an exceptional glossy paint finish across the entire outside of the ship that makes this release feel very polished. Disney also included a USB cable, but this time there is no display stand or carded figure included as was the case with the Starspeeder 3000 vehicle from the year before.

Assembly

The assembly is straight forward because the ship itself is already fully built. The only thing you need to do is apply cabin stickers if you choose to do so, add batteries or plug the USB cable into the bottom of the ship and you are ready to go. The roof is removable so you can easily access the cabin and the landing gear can be extended manually.

Comparison: Starspeeder 1000 vs. Starspeeder 3000

While the Starspeeder 1000 shares much of its DNA with last year’s Starspeeder 3000, there are several important updates. The biggest change comes from the on-board ride experience: the new version features updated ride footage with five films (The Rise of Skywalker, The Last Jedi, The Phantom Menace, Revenge of the Sith/Attack of the Clones, and Ahsoka). Unlike the 3000, you only need to press the play button once—the full film runs seamlessly without additional presses.

Other updates include newly sculpted side cannons, redesigned rear engines, and reworked cam droid storage. The interior still accommodates up to 25 figures, and the lighting effects remain outstanding: synchronized cabin lights, glowing back engines, and illuminated front and side cannons. However, this year’s version omits the carded figure and display stand, though it retains the USB cable option for powering the ship in addition to batteries. Inside the cabin, the two control buttons now trigger the ride sequence and C-3PO phrases, replacing Captain RX-24’s dialogue from the earlier release. Cabin stickers are still included, but this time there is no battle damage sticker included for the ship's hull. Another update on this ship is the modern Star Tous logo, which can be found on the front of the ship and on the screen which covers the LCD screen.

The entrance doors can be opened via a press of a button on the back of the ship (same functionality like on the Starspeeder 3000), which also turns on the cabin lights and triggers the entry chime. The exit doors need to be opened manually, just like on the actual attraction where cast members have to open them so that guests can exit safely.

Here is a look at what the ship looks like in all its glory and in a diorama environment. As you can see, it works perfectly with previously released Star Tours/Droid Factory figures from the Disney Parks.

Conclusion

Despite costing $50 more than the Starspeeder 3000 and offering fewer extras in the box, the Star Tours Starspeeder 1000 is a remarkable collectible. Its screen-accurate updates, immersive ride footage, and premium finish make it a must-have for serious Star Wars 3.75” collectors. As the definitive Disney Starspeeder based on Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, it’s highly recommendable and sure to delight fans for years to come.
