Walmart's The Mandalorian And Grogu Displays

With the launch of Maul: Shadow Lord on Disney Plus and the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu movie hitting theaters, Star Wars toys (not action figures per se but Star Wars toys in general) are once again getting strong placement at retail. We recently checked out a local Walmart to see how stores are preparing, and the display was impressive.

As always, not every Walmart location is equal, so your mileage may vary. However, this particular store featured not only a regular Star Wars aisle but also multiple secondary displays. One end cap highlighted LEGO Star Wars sets, while another mixed various toys with a dedicated section for Star Wars, including The Black Series figures. Interestingly, both standard blue-box figures and the white First Edition packaging were available.

There were also some surprises on shelves. Blockees, a Chinese company, appears to be entering the U.S. market with Darth Vader and Stormtrooper action figure model kits priced at $14.99. These figures are roughly in scale with Black Series releases and include multiple hands and accessories, offering a competitive alternative at a lower price point. Beyond that, shelves were filled with plush, roleplay lightsabers, and a heavy presence of Grogu merchandise tied to The Mandalorian brand. One thing notably missing, however, are action figures based on Maul: Shadow Lord, as Hasbro’s current focus remains on products tied to The Mandalorian and Grogu movie.
