Oma Tres: How Is He Not a Figure Yet? (It’s Wild!)

1/25/2026 Oma Tres The Rise Of Skywalker

For Star Wars action figure collectors, it is kind of amazing that this moment has never been turned into a collectible. John Williams’ cameo in The Rise of Skywalker as Oma Tres (an anagram of “Maestro”) is a fun nod for longtime fans and a quiet tribute to one of Star Wars’ most important creative voices. Yet, despite his enormous contribution to the saga, Oma Tres has never appeared as an action figure in any collector-focused Star Wars action figure line, including The Vintage Collection, The Black Series, or the Retro Collection. We wanted to help raise awareness of this overlooked cameo and why it deserves consideration. Adding another layer of meaning, the props behind Williams in the film reference his record-breaking 54 Oscar nominations and five wins, and include:

  • A Small Spaceship: A miniature version of the craft from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
  • Household Iron: The booby-trap item used by Kevin McCallister in Home Alone.
  • Sankara Stones: The mystical artifacts from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
  • Dog Tags: Representing the soldiers in Saving Private Ryan.
  • Wizard Wands: Stylized wands representing Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
  • Yellow Barrels: Representing the air canisters used to hunt the shark in Jaws.
  • Corncob Pipe: A reference to the film Tom Sawyer.
  • Pilot’s Wings: Representing the aviation themes in Catch Me If You Can (engraved with “TWA” in Aurebesh).
  • Fiddle and Bow: A futuristic version of the instrument from Fiddler on the Roof.
  • Tomahawk: Representing the weapon used in The Patriot.
  • Captain Hook’s Hook: A replica of the titular villain’s prosthetic from Hook.
  • Time Turner: The magical device from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
  • Reel-to-Reel Tape Recorder: A reference to the Watergate-themed film Nixon.
  • Bullwhip: A direct tribute to the Indiana Jones franchise (specifically Raiders of the Lost Ark).
  • Chains: A symbolic reference to the historical drama Amistad.
  • Monogrammed Book: A book featuring Williams’ initials (“JTW”) in Aurebesh, representing The Book Thief.
  • Czech Hedgehog: A beach defense obstacle also referencing Saving Private Ryan.
  • Bravery Medal: A replica of the medal from A New Hope (which Williams won for).

Oma Tres would make an amazing convention exclusive action figure in an elaborate box with some of the trinkets included as accessories. Time will tell if Hasbro will ever make a figure, but sitting here from a collector's point of view, it's a head scratcher why this hasn't been made yet.
