2019 - The Year Of Luke Skywalker Action Figures!

For fans of Hasbro's 3.75" Vintage Collection the year 2019 was dominated by Jabba's Palace goons and Luke Skywalker action figures. The focus on Jabba's Palace makes sense with the release of Jabba's Sail Barge in Spring, but the amount of Luke Skywalker action figures is a bit of a headscratcher. This is not a complaint about all the Luke figures which were released, it's just surprising. When we mix in Hasbro's Black Series 6" line, Hasbro's 12" Hero line, the 5" Galaxy Of Adventures line and the 3.75" Retro Collection, we have even more Luke figures! That's a whopping 17 Luke Skywalker action figures with eight figures alone in The Vintage Collection!

The great news about all those Luke Skywalker action figures is that they all turned out beautifully. Especially the figures released in the 3.75" Vintage Collection can be considered definite versions (well, with the exception of the TVC Luke Dagobah and his visible arm joints). 

Looking ahead into 2020 it looks very promising for more Luke Skywalker action figures. Hasbro has already announced a Bespin Luke Skywalker re-release with updated face deco for The Vintage Collection and we know that a Dagobah Luke Skywalker is coming to The Black Series 6" line (fan vote winner). With 2020 being the 40th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back we'll likely see a new or re-release of Luke Skywalker in his Hoth Outfit in the 6" and 3.75" scales as well. Rumor has it that we'll see a Black Series 6" Luke Skywalker (Crait) in 2020 and we know that Hasbro already has the sculpt for an old Jedi Master figure, so we might see a Force Ghost repaint in the near future as well.
